In CESAR's design universe, materials become a tool capable of defining atmospheres, perceptions, and personality. The Italian firm continues to expand its aesthetic and functional research with new surfaces that originate in the kitchen but evolve toward a broader and more fluid vision of domestic space. This pursuit connects technical innovation, material sensitivity, and compositional freedom. The result is a proposal where materials actively participate in the visual and emotional construction of contemporary space.

A historical symbol reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective

Within this research, CESAR introduces grooved mirrored glass, a material that revives one of the most recognizable features of architecture and design from the first half of the 20th century. The vertical grooves create a precise and ordered visual rhythm , adding depth and texture to surfaces with an elegant and architectural feel.

The addition of the mirrored finish also lends a retro-futuristic dimension that constantly changes depending on the light and surroundings. The grooved texture transforms the perception of domestic space , creating dynamic and sophisticated surfaces capable of continuously altering their appearance.

This solution is integrated into both the brand's kitchens and Home Elements, expanding CESAR's design language to new applications within the home. The surface partially reflects the space and reinforces the relationship between material, architecture, and visual perception.

Technical precision and contemporary material sensitivity

The development of ribbed mirrored glass combines high-precision industrial processes with a clear aesthetic sensibility. The glass first undergoes a tempering process that increases its strength and hardness through high temperatures and rapid cooling with pressurized air. This treatment improves the material's durability without altering its visual quality.

Technical innovation thus becomes an essential part of the material experience, maintaining a balance between performance, texture, and aesthetic appeal. Each phase of the process seeks to combine industrial precision with contemporary expression , reinforcing the sophisticated character of the product.

The mirroring process then involves preparing the surface and applying a thin silver-based solution responsible for the reflective effect. Finally, a protective finish preserves the material and ensures its stability over time. The result is a surface that visually evolves depending on the light and its surroundings.

Light and perception as part of the project

One of the most distinctive aspects of this finish is its ability to transform the relationship between light, material, and interior architecture. The vertical grooves filter the light and create soft, veiled shadows, adding visual depth and a constant sense of movement within the domestic space. Light is directly integrated into the material identity of the project.

At the same time, the mirrored surface takes on the characteristics of its surroundings, partially reflecting nearby furniture, volumes, and materials. This ever-changing nature transforms glass into a living, dynamic element , capable of adapting to different aesthetic sensibilities and ways of living.

Material ceases to be merely a covering and becomes an expressive tool for contemporary space. CESAR thus continues to explore a design conceived to interpret the personality of those who inhabit the space.
