For Milan Design Week 2026, CESAR presents a new evolution of Tangram, the project designed by García Cumini in 2022 based on a reflection on geometry and matter. The addition of a new module expands its compositional possibilities and extends its language beyond the island, consolidating a dynamic, recognizable system ready to grow over time. This new iteration also reinforces its ability to interact with different spaces in the home without sacrificing its own distinct formal identity.

A system that grows without losing its identity

Tangram incorporates a new module that expands its compositional possibilities and consolidates the visual coherence of the projectThis evolution transcends the island's perimeter and extends its vocabulary to columns, tall cabinets, hanging furniture, and low wall units, reinforcing its status as comprehensive system.

"The expansion of Tangram stems from the constant dialogue that CESAR maintains with designers, architects, and partners, which for us is a fundamental tool. It is through this continuous exchange that we identify real needs and build new development paths, capable of growing our systems over time without distorting their identity.” Gina CesterCEO CESAR

This development confirms the evolutionary vocation of Tangram and its capacity to grow without disrupting the overall balance. Expanding the system does not alter its essence, but rather reinforces its relevance within a concept of contemporary open and flexible kitchen.

Geometry, light, and a fluid, evolving language

With Tangram, surfaces become a research field and are modeled using curves of variable radius, sometimes combined with curves of fixed radius. From this choice arise organic and unpredictable geometries that surpass the idea in a repeatable way and build configurations that are always different.

The result is a system of combinable modules that generates diverse compositions without losing recognizability. Tangram builds a fluid and dynamic language, in which each proposal maintains its own individuality and, at the same time, preserves a clear visual identity within the domestic space.

“In Tangram, light doesn’t stop at the edges, but rather follows them. The curved surfaces soften contrasts and create smooth transitions, adding depth to the volumes. With the new module, this principle is also extended to the vertical elements, reinforcing the dialogue between solids and voids.” García CuminiArt Director CESAR

Matter, technique and new space applications

Behind the apparent formal simplicity of the collection lies a complex and rigorous development processBased on experimentation, prototyping, and continuous verification, the construction of the curved doors requires the joining of multiple layers, precisely calibrated to ensure stability and durability over time.

The complexity of the project is also reflected in the study of materials and surfaces, as each responds differently to the modeling process. This work is developed in close synergy between design, R&D, and production, translating the research into tangible quality and constructive precision.

Tangram is also presented in a new configuration that highlights the dialogue between form and matter through a measured balance of volumes and colors. The columns in Jaipur Red Anodyc Lacquer with Groove doors, the island in Mushroom Lacquer with a Breccia Sarda marble countertop, the new Palmier edge banding, and the Oi by García Cumini handles in a Bronze finish reinforce a design that expands its project horizon beyond the kitchen.

CESAR is a leading Italian firm in the design of high-end kitchensFounded in 1969 in Pramaggiore, in the province of Venice, by Sante Cester. From its beginnings, the brand has developed its own language that combines contemporary design, artisanal excellence and technological innovation, understanding the kitchen as the true center of the home and a space where aesthetics and functionality coexist naturally.

Today, CESAR continues its evolution under the leadership of the Cester family, with Gina Cester as CEO, consolidating a vision that interprets the kitchen as a convivial, versatile and open environmentSince 2014, the García Cumini studio has led the brand's creative direction, providing a coherent, essential and recognizable approach that reinforces its identity within the international design scene.

With a consolidated presence in the main international markets, CESAR has a global network that includes flagship stores, single-brand stores and distribution in more than 40 countries. This positioning places it as a benchmark for high-end Italian design., based on constant research into materials, attention to detail and production entirely made in Italy.
