BAIA: Design from the origin and observation
BAIA, designed by Marco Costanzi, represents a return to Schiffini's origins , linked to his birth in La Spezia in 1925 and the nautical world. This legacy translates into a proposal that stems from the observation of reality, where elements such as corners—present in both architecture and everyday objects—are reinterpreted as a design resource.
The forms soften, the edges round, and the volumes open outwards, creating a more dynamic composition. This is not merely an aesthetic gesture, but a response to the idea of space in motion , where each element finds its equilibrium within a flexible configuration.
Matter, icons, and continuity in the language of design
The exhibition combines new designs with iconic models like the Cina and Cinqueterre , reinforcing Schiffini's trajectory and its ability to evolve while maintaining a recognizable identity. This coexistence of historical pieces and current projects creates a continuous interpretation of the brand's design.
Marco Costanzi's artistic direction is based on an essential, precise, and perception-centered language, where matter, light, and proportion define the experience of space. An expanded vision of the home from a contemporary design perspective
Together with BAIA, Schiffini presents a new collection of bedroom wardrobes , expanding its offering to encompass a more complete vision for the home. This evolution allows them to extend their distinctive design language to different rooms, maintaining coherence and continuity in the design.
The installation is integrated into the LG Electronics space, where the Signature Kitchen Suite collections are also on display. The “Feeding the Future” installation completes the experience , exploring the relationship between technology and food sustainability within the context of Milan Design Week.
