Since revolutionising the sector with its surface-mounted extraction system in 2007, the name BORA has been associated with innovative, high-quality, high-design built-in kitchen appliances. Now, the BORA sink introduces another unprecedented, yet entirely logical and understandable function to the kitchen: at the touch of a button, water flows down all four sides of the sink, cleaning the sides and base simultaneously in seconds.

BORA: The future of the self-cleaning sink

When the idea was conceived, The beginning was clever and convincing., although difficult to implement. Now it seems incredibly simple: water comes out from the edge of the sink and flows evenly along all four sides, collecting all the dirt residues, such as oatmeal and bread crumbs, in its path.

Cristadur, a patented quartz composite material, facilitates this laminar flow of water in its self-cleaning function, creating a beautiful pearl effect. This contributes to even greater hygiene in the kitchen.

Putting engineering ingenuity into practice

One of the challenges for the developers was that instead of collecting in the center of the sink, the water had to flow together through the drain filter near the back. To achieve this, an intelligently designed flow profile evenly distributes water around the seamless satin surface structure.

The self-cleaning function is activated by pressing the button located on the faucet head., specially developed for the BORA sink. It is perfectly positioned so that users do not have to reach around the hot water coming out of the tap. The shower head also incorporates a sensor with an LED which changes from blue to red to indicate the water temperature. The different operating modes are another clever detail that emerged from practical testing.

In pulse mode, the cleaning function is activated as long as the button is pressed. In continuous mode, if the touch sensor or the tap button is pressed continuously for 5 seconds, the rinsing function is automatically activated for another 15 seconds.
