Optimized layout and equipment
With a surface area of approximately 13,50 m² , the kitchen has been optimized to the fullest in terms of its layout , making the most of every available centimeter. It acts as the intermediate and connecting space between the different areas of the home, a distinctive feature of the projects developed by the JAO Arquitectura studio.
This area is divided into two distinct parts. The first is the main bridge -shaped zone , which houses the cooking and sink areas. Here you'll find a BALAY induction hob in black glass, an integrated extractor hood , a FRANKE MRX 110-45 sink installed under the countertop, and a SAMOA stainless steel tap from the same brand. It also features two tall units : one with a BALAY fridge-freezer and the other with an open shelf for a coffee maker, microwave, and decorative items.
The second part consists of a 200 cm long island , which serves as additional workspace and features a bar area at the same level, furnished with upholstered Inclass Varya bar stools . This island not only provides extra space for food preparation but also functions as a meeting and social hub.
Finishes and materials that define the spaces
To differentiate the various spaces, such as the entrance , the kitchen , and the rest of the interior, JAO Arquitectura employed a combination of materials and colors . Marazzi flooring was selected for the kitchen and entrance , while Porcelanosa 's Bottega limestone finish was used for the rest of the space. The kitchen fronts, by Portasur , combine Fenix in a Laurel finish for the bridge area, which adds elegance, with natural oak veneer on the island, adding warmth and a natural feel.
For the base cabinets, a Gola system was chosen to match the fronts of each area, complemented by a vertical Gola for the refrigerator column. All the hardware is from the Austrian firm Blum , notably the HK Top Tip-On lift system in the wall cabinets and the Legrabox system in drawers and pull-out drawers, both in an attractive anthracite color.
Countertops: Functionality and design in harmony
For the main area of the bridge , a countertop from the Spanish firm Inalco , manufactured by Design Stone , in a 12mm Camel finish, was chosen . This material, used for the countertop, cladding the backsplash, and framing the bridge, provides an aesthetically impeccable and functional solution by eliminating seams, lending distinction to the overall design.
On the island, the countertop is crafted from the same oak veneer as the fronts, creating a seamless and elegant appearance. This unique approach to the island reinforces a cohesive and distinctive design, complemented by two matching mitered waterfalls that blend harmoniously with the overall aesthetic.
